American actress Katharine Helmond, the hero of Sop and Hughes the Boss in the 1970s and 1980s, died 89 days ago, according to a technical agency.

Helmond died at her home in Los Angeles on Feb. 23 because of complications from Alzheimer’s disease.

“It was the love of my life … we spent 57 years together, beautiful and wonderful and full of love,” Helmond’s husband, David Christian, said in a statement on Friday.

Helmond gave an unforgettable role when she embodied the character of a trivial woman obsessed with cosmetic surgery in the film “Brazil” by Terry Gilliam in 1985.

Helmond won two Gold Globe awards, one in 1981 for her role in the soap series and the other in 1989 for her role in “The Boss”. She has been nominated for the Emmy Awards seven times, including once for her participation in the Evry Buddy Loves Raymond series.

Helmond also took part in “Family Plot”, the last film by Alfred Hitchcock, in 1976
