Formula 1 fever to continue in Singapore this weekend

The 15th race of the Grand Prix in the 2019 Formula 1 World Championship will be held in Singapore over the weekend.

The qualifying round will take place in the Marina Bay Street Circuit on Saturday at 1300GMT, with the race beginning on Sunday at 1210GMT.

The Singapore Grand Prix will be held in 61 laps on the track of 5.063 kilometers-long (3.1460 miles).

The first Grand Prix at Singapore was held in 2008 and the lap record of the track was set by Danish driver Kevin Magnussen, 26, in 2018 with 1:41:90.

Mercedes is dominating this season in Formula 1, winning 10 Grand Prix out of 14.

Mercedes’ British driver Lewis Hamilton won eight races (Bahrain, China, Spain, Monaco, Canada, France, Great Britain and Hungary) this season, while his Finnish teammate Valtteri Bottas came first twice in Australia and Azerbaijan in the 2019 Formula 1 World Championship.

Red Bull-Honda team’s Dutch driver Max Verstappen was the winner in Austria and Germany.

Separately, Ferrari’s young Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc won the last two races in Belgium and Italy.
