Super Lig’s title holders Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas failed to win their matches in the sixth match day of Turkish league at the weekend.
Galatasaray and Fenerbahce met in a hotly-anticipated clash at the Turk Telekom stadium on Saturday. But the match ended in goalless draw.
The latest draw leaves Galatasaray without a single win in its last 10 matches against Fenerbahce in Turkey’s top football league.
The Lions maintain their poor performance in Turkish Lig, as they are in seventh place with nine points.
Producing one of their worst-ever league performances, Besiktas were defeated by Trabzonspor 4-1 at Medical Park Stadium in the Black Sea city of Trabzon on Sunday.
Dorukhan Tokoz (own goal) (31), Jose Sosa (42), Alexander Sorloth (66) and Anthony Nwakaeme (88)’s goals brought the victory to their team.
Trabzsonspor increased their points to nine with this victory.
Besiktas have gone winless in their last four games in the league, leaving them with only five points.
Aytemiz Alanyaspor still kept its spot at the top of the Turkish Super Lig with 14 points despite they were not able to win their last two matches.
Fenerbahce and Gazisehir Gaziantep follow Aytemiz Alanyaspor with 11 points.
Last season’s runners-up Istanbul Basaksehir hammered Caykur Rizespor 5-0 at home on Friday.
Basaksehir are in eight spot with eight points.
