British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt said Saturday that Britain’s strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia has helped make Britain safe.
On Saturday, Saudi Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdul Aziz Al-Assaf received his office at the Ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh, and the delegation accompanying him. During the meeting, they reviewed the historical relations between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, the partnership between the two friendly countries, the regional and international developments and the efforts exerted towards them, joint action in the fight against extremism and terrorism, and a number of issues of mutual interest.

“I had fruitful discussions with Minister Assaf in Riyadh on strategic partnership,” Hunt wrote in his Twitter account after the meeting. He stressed that he discussed with al-Assaf and Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir “ways to achieve progress in the peace of Yemen.”
In another context, Hunt discussed with al-Jubeir “developments in the investigation of the death of Jamal Khashoggi,” as revealed in another tweet.
